Understanding mental well-being is getting difficult & complicated because of the stigma that exists in our society and the lack of a concrete definition of the subject itself. Our responsibility; individually and collectively is to uphold the nuts and bolts of human interaction – to have an incredible support system and to build solid social ties to avoid depression or isolation.
We must be mindful that mental wellbeing range is wide which there are contrasts between mental wellbeing issues and mental illnesses or disorders. Experiencing one or more of the following sentiments or behaviours can be an early warning sign of a problem:

Eating or sleeping too much or too little

Having low or no energy

Feeling numb or like nothing matters

Having unexplained aches and pains

Feeling helpless or hopeless

Smoking, excessive alcohol intake, substance abuse

Feeling abnormally confused, distracted, on edge, angry, distured, stressed, or scared

Conflicts with family and friends

Experiencing severe mood swings that cause problems in relationships

Having persistent thoughts and memories you can’t get out of your head

Hearing voices or believing things that are not true

Thinking of harming yourself or others

Inability to perform daily errands like taking care of your kids or getting to work or school
